Job Title: CISCO CCIE Consultant
Location: Remote with travel to Barrie HQ twice a month - 45 Sarjeant Dr., Barrie, ON
Job Type: 6-month contract with potential to be extended for up to 2 years
Start Date: Within 30 days
Office Hours - 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday - 40 hours
Pay rate: $80/hr to $90/hr; rates are negotiable


Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues while monitoring and maintaining environment stability.
  • Apply solid problem-solving techniques consistent with an advanced knowledge of technical and operational issues involving Cisco & Fortinet products.
  • Assist in root cause analysis, diagnostics, and systems monitoring.
  • Provide clear, concise, and customized documentation that is appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide evaluation in designing, updating, implementing latest Cisco & Fortinet products.
  • Participate in the development and enforcement of company IT Standards, Policies, and Procedures, develop and update technical documentation.
  • Provide onsite operational support for the network environment
  • Provide status to client
  • Participate in status meetings with client
  • Work with the client resources to follow up on tasks that need to be completed by the client
  • Review and assist in modifying, augmenting, and validating the current deployment project plan
  • Identify communicate, and escalate issues associated with project execution and/or timelines
  • Assist in coordination of activities required to make network architectural resources more effective
  • Drive adoption of and response to architectural recommendations presented by network technical resources, remove communication barriers between architects, implementers, managers, and the business
  • Knowledge Transfer and mentorship to First Level - As Required
  • Perform software patching on all existing network devices within OT
  • Work with application team to perform testing on patched devices to ensure the patch was successful
  • Sustainment, documentation, and knowledge transfer
  • Fortinet Firewalls: Firewall rules, environment builds (VDOM), and troubleshooting (captures)
  • Cisco N9K, 5K, 2K: VLAN creations, Trunking, Port Channels, and troubleshooting
  • Methods of Procedure (MOP) and Request for Change (RFC) process (ITSM), coordination with teams for security scans and impact analysis (H1 Prod)
  • Review and provide feedback on network layout(s), IP addressing, routing, switching, application environments, flow, etc. (H1 Prod)
  • Implement the required FW Rules for access into our environments
  • Build FW rules for access from Citrix host to field routers
  • Ensure client SCOP is followed
  • Integrating Customer’s management software or other IT management systems
  • Documentation of Project or the environment

 

Out of Scope

  • Disk data destruction/erasure for any and all data
  • Disposal of any decommissioned material
  • Server, application, and data migration activities
  • Integrating Customer’s management software or other IT management systems
  • Unless otherwise specifically stated, the following are also excluded from the scope of this SOW:
  • Ongoing hardware, driver, software updates, or administration for any product used or provided
  • Procurement of hardware and software, as well as its associated licensing
  • Resolution of software issues, outside this Project
  • Formal hardware, software, and/or operating system training
  • Documentation of Project or the environment
  • All services, hardware, and applications not included in the scope of Services in this SOW are deemed out of scope
