Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior IT Desktop/Imaging Technician to support a laptop refresh and Microsoft Intune cleanup initiative. The successful candidate will provide hands-on desktop, imaging, endpoint deployment, device retirement, and Intune support. This is a highly hands-on technical role requiring strong experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, SCCM, OneDrive, Windows imaging, and enterprise laptop deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Laptop Refresh & Deployment
- Support the refresh and deployment of approximately 266 laptops.
- Image and provision new laptops using Windows Autopilot task sequencing.
- Prepare new devices for deployment and ensure successful provisioning.
- Perform desktop/laptop configuration and troubleshooting.
- Support user data backup and full restoration.
- Support synchronization of user data to OneDrive.
- Support folder redirection back to OneDrive.
- Troubleshoot deployment, authentication, connectivity, and endpoint issues.
- Provide hands-on desktop and imaging support throughout the refresh.
- Perform data wipes on retired laptops.
- Clean and prepare old laptops for return.
- Package retired equipment using client-provided boxes and tools.
- Prepare equipment for shipment/return.
- Ensure devices are properly processed and accounted for following deployment.
- Assist with cleaning up the existing Microsoft Intune environment.
- Identify and remove old/stale device objects that were not properly removed.
- Troubleshoot discrepancies between device records and the current environment.
- Support the client in establishing a cleaner future-state Intune environment.
- Assist with endpoint inventory and device management activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on IT desktop support experience, preferably at a senior level.
- Strong experience with Windows desktop/laptop deployment and imaging.
- Experience supporting enterprise hardware refresh or deployment projects.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with Windows Autopilot and device provisioning.
- Experience with SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with OneDrive and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced deployment environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow documented deployment processes and maintain accurate records.
- Must be comfortable working on-site five days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale laptop refresh projects.
- Experience with Intune tenant cleanup and stale device/object remediation.
- Experience transitioning endpoints from SCCM to Intune.
- Experience with OneDrive folder redirection and user data migration.
- Experience working in legal, professional services, or other enterprise environments.
- ServiceNow experience.
