Position: Cyber Security Policy Analyst Type: Temp contractor Location: Hybird- 4 days remote and 1 day on site. Location-1611 Tom Roberts Avenue, Ottawa, ON Term: 6 months, possibility to be extended. Start Date: Oct 16 /23 End Date: April 16/23 Hours/Week: 40 Hours of Work: Mon to Fri 8:30 am to 5 pm Experience Level: Min 5 yrs.
Certification/Security: Must be security cleared with Federal Govt. or ready to get the clearance
The Enterprise Cyber Security (ECS) team is responsible for our client's Cyber Security Program. Their mission is to ensure the enterprise is prepared to defend, detect, respond, and manage cyber threats and risks, through partnering with all departments to help ensure they exceed customer expectations, increase efficiency, and maintain a safe, cost-effective and resilient air navigation service.
The work will involve developing a mature cyber security policy and compliance program and producing new as well as updating existing cyber security-related policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines based on ISO 27001, in consultation with ECS and other stakeholders.
Requirement
The Enterprise Cyber Security (ECS) team has an immediate requirement for a Cyber Security Policy Analyst to develop, maintain, and update various documentation related to cyber security.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
Cyber Security Policy Analyst shall be responsible for the following activities:
Provide strategic vision for a robust policy and compliance program. Preferred, proven experience in technical writing. Lead discussions with SMEs, policy counterparts, and management to enhance policies and standards, based on ISO 27001. Develop new and update existing cyber security related policy content. Coordinate the deployment and the publishing of cyber security policy documents. Support and contribute to policy adoption through education and awareness programs. Assist in monitoring policy compliance across technology divisions. Use plain language, editorial standards and writing conventions to communicate and describe complex policy content to a variety of audiences. Assists in process improvements, documentation creation, reviews, validation, and obtaining approvals.
Resource Qualification
The candidate shall meet the following qualifications:
Experience:
5+ years of experience working in cyber security with the last 2+ years focusing on writing cyber security policies and communicating those policies.
Proven track record of leading policy development and compliance programs.
Strong knowledge of industry threats, trends, regulations, and laws.
Excellent presence, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and solve problems.
Experience in the Microsoft 365 Platform – SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, etc.
Education:
1) Post-secondary degree in information systems or a related field of study; or combination of education, training, and cyber security certifications.
