Job Title: AV Systems Installer (3 Positions)
Job Type: Full-time permanent
Location: Mississauga 
Starts: ASAP

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr 
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Shifts/Schedules: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Position Summary:
The Audio-Visual Systems Installer is responsible for the installation and support of complex audio/visual systems in a variety of customer environments.
Responsibilities:

Installation
Installation of AV system according to scope and wiring diagrams, ensuring a standard level of quality. This may include:

  • Reviewing job information post-site inspection to determine installation requirements.
  • Pulling and prepping any additional materials to facilitate a smooth install.
  • Loading, unloading gear into transport vehicles and into work sites.
  • Picking up and delivering additional items from vendors as required.
  • Acting as designated CAV onsite contact when senior CAV staff are not on site, liaising directly with clients before, during and at the end of the installation to ensure satisfaction is met.
  • Interpreting system drawings and implementing implementation plan.
  • Reporting any deficiencies, and, when possible, providing adequate solutions.
  • Addressing issues with pre-existing systems; contacting vendors and creating tickets when needed.
  • Recommending and advising clients on future services CAV can provide.
  • Running and terminating cables (CAT6, 16AWG, 22AWG, COAX, etc.).
  • Modifying, integrating furniture and various AV components into the environment.
  • Installing speakers, cameras, displays, projectors, and projection screens (fixed and motorized) and proper mounting hardware.
  • Installing touch panels, input plates, video transmitters/receivers.
  • Installing wire mold and ‘over the floor’ raceway.
  • Populating, wiring, and programming processors in AV racks.
  • (Low level) programming and configuring of devices on-site.
  • Cutting and installing table boxes, table microphone, ceiling microphone.
  • Fabricating custom hardware when required.
  • Maintaining sufficient inventory in personal and shop hardware kits, reporting when shop inventory reaches a low enough level.
Service
  • Provide peer help/assistance as required.
  • Respond to client and small enterprise requests for assistance or support.
  • Adapt duties, as needed, to accommodate changes in CAV business flow.

Qualifications:
  • Installation experience in larger AV/IT projects, including interpretation of drawings, implementation of installation plan and custom fabrication preferred.
  • Experience in stage show/event execution
  • AV/IT job staging experience
  • Customer service orientation with strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Relationship management and collaborative skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing service and installation issues.
  • Control System & DSP Programming, equipment wiring, testing, commissioning knowledge.
  • Flexible/adaptable to a changing environment.

Certifications:
Certification in one of the following, required:
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Certification.
  • Biamp Tesira Certification.
  • QSYS Level 1 Certification.
  • Crestron Core Certification.
  • Dante Level 1 & Level 2 Certification.
  • Basic Knowledge of Managed Switches (Cisco, Netgear)
