Job Title: Senior IT Support Specialist (part-time evenings)
Job Type: 6-month Contract  
Location: Stratford, ON (100% onsite)
Hours: 21 hrs. (3 days per week, Tues/Wed/Thurs)

Rate: $45/hr Inc.
Shift Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 8 PM to 4:30 AM
Orientation Period: 2 weeks, daytime hours (Mon–Fri, 9 AM to 5 PM)


Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and technically versatile Senior IT Support Specialist to provide on-site support for a client with a diverse infrastructure. The role begins with a daytime orientation period to familiarise with systems and stakeholders, followed by regular evening shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Windows Server administration, desktop support, and general networking, with the flexibility to assist across Tier 1–3 levels depending on the technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on support for Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, File Shares, FTP)
  • Assist with basic Linux server tasks and monitoring
  • Support virtualization platforms, specifically Scale Computing virtualization environments
  • Troubleshoot and escalate issues related to NAS/SAN devices (Lenovo, Synology, Buffalo)
  • Configure and maintain Windows desktops/laptops, coordinate hardware diagnostics and third-party repairs
  • Assist with Wi-Fi troubleshooting and installation (Ruckus and general wireless networks)
  • Document support activities and escalate complex issues as needed

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of IT support experience across desktop, server, and network environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently during evening hours
  • Experience with ticketing systems and documentation

Preferred Certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Ruckus Certified Associate
  • Scale Computing Certifications or Proof of Competency
  • Linux Essentials (LPI) or CompTIA Linux+ (for basic Linux familiarity)
  • ITIL Foundation (for structured support and escalation practices)
