Job Overview
We are seeking a Locksmith Shop / Inventory Clerk who is mechanically inclined, organized, and thrives in a hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining shop inventory, supporting locksmith operations, and performing light mechanical and tool-related tasks as needed. This role requires someone who works well independently, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and enjoys creating order and efficiency in their workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain inventory levels for locksmith supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Receive, organize, and label incoming parts and materials.
- Track usage and update inventory records accurately using Microsoft Excel.
- Support locksmith technicians by preparing tools, parts, and job materials.
- Perform light mechanical or assembly work using hand and power tools when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized shop environment.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in stock counts or supply records.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to streamline processes and improve inventory efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong Excel and keyboarding skills with attention to data accuracy.
- Very mechanically inclined – comfortable using tools and understanding mechanical systems.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail (a bit “eccentric” about order is a plus).
- Comfortable performing hands-on tasks, including using power tools when needed.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a locksmith/shop environment is an asset.
