Job Descriptions:
As part of the Operations Management Team the Operations Manager (OM) is an integral hands-on role responsible for all warehouse functions, processes and operational performance overseeing Inbound/Outbound operations, Inventory Management, site safety and facility maintenance. The OM reports into the Director of Operations and coordinates with various functions of the business including supply-chain and customer service teams to achieve business objectives and established KPI targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations within the assigned distribution centres
- Accountable for performance of all warehouse operations
- Develop and enforce SOP and QSHE policies to align with operations strategy and goals
- Lead a team of up to 20 people
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve process efficiency, order and inventory accuracy throughout warehouse operations
- Analyze and manage reports for production, productivity, inventory and expense tracking
- Ensure Quality and Safety (OH&S) standards are met throughout all warehouse operations
- Fulfill all scheduled orders on time in full (OTIF / OTD)
- Participate in key implementation projects for WMS integration and development
- Manage inventory controls and processes to achieve accuracy and operations efficiency targets
- Communicates at various levels of management to ensure customer expectations are met and operational challenges are resolved in a timely manner
- Manages and approves all warehouse expenses including supplies and labour costs on budget
- Coach, document and monitor employee performance. Prepare individual development and performance plans where necessary to help drive employee engagement and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through effective application of project management/Lean Six Sigma methods and concepts
- Support the team through motivation and training to reach common goals and objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated operations leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Managed at least 30 reports including full-time and temp
- 4+ years management experience in a distribution environment
- WMS / ERP implementation is an asset
- Inventory management / compliance experience is an asset
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, Management or related field preferred or;
- 2 years of additional management experience with a Diploma in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, Management or related field or;
- 4 years of additional management experience in a related field

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of management
- Established team building, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to manage workload by effectively prioritizing tasks to meet expectations and deadlines
- Proactive problem solving and analytical capabilities for data driven decision making
- Solid understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles – Green Belt certification is an asset
- Strong project management capabilities
- Proven report preparation and data analysis
- Working knowledge of QA and document control processes
- Outstanding computer-based skills including: MS Excel, Outlook and WMS systems
