Job Title: Senior Storage Resource
Type: 1-year contract (Possibility of extension)
Location: Remote (Office is in Barrie)
Start Date: ASAP
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday - 9 AM to 5 PM
Hours/Week: 40
Responsibilities:
Work with project team members to understand project needs and assist with the design decisions and implement storage solutions within documented architectural frameworks.
Assess, document, coordinate, and deploy storage systems solutions, products, and related services to fulfill the project needs.
This infrastructure is extensive (1000+ virtual servers, 250+ ESX hosts, 5 storage arrays across 3 sites) and supports systems that are required to operate 24 hours a day in a highly secure environment.
The position may also work with the storage product vendors and receiving sustainment organization (N&J) to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer.
Technical Requirements:
Experience with HPe server hardware: Blade chassis (c7000), Synergy chassis and related blade servers, Discreet HPe servers (DL380/580, etc.)
Microsoft server operating systems: Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2, 2016, 2019
Microsoft Client Operating Systems: Windows 10
Red Hat Linux OS: RHEL 7x, 8x, 9x
Experience working in a 7x24x365 highly secure environment
Relevant infrastructure experience in aligning business objectives, business capabilities, technical capabilities and physical infrastructure
Knowledge of networking as it relates to server/storage/SAN connectively and port requirements for purposes of firewall and rule implementation and troubleshooting connectivity
Relevant experience in utility sector (preferred)
Proven ability to create design and implementation documentation
Experience with Security Status Monitoring products an asset
Experience with SolarWinds, Tipping Point, SCCM, SCOM, CyberArk, and Tripwire would be an asset.
Recent experience, training or certification with any of the following storage related technologies:
Hitatchi Storage arrays (G800 or newer) and related technologies (replication, thin provisioning, tiered storage, Hitachi Command Suite 8, etc.)
HPe Primera and related technologies (SMMC, Oneview, etc.)
SAN Fabric management (using Cisco MDS 9000 series and Nexus 5K switches with DCNM or Brocade SAN switches with SANNav)
VMWare vSphere 7x
